Ningxia Medical University NXMU  Founded in 1958, Located in Yinchuan City of Ningxia Province. Ningxia Medical University covers an area of nearly 833,000  and the construction area of 293,200 , which includes old campus and new campus. Ningxia Medical University is a MOE Listed University which is approved by Ministry of education China for English Medium MBBS. It is the only higher medical school in Ningxia. Ningxia Medical University is offering Master and PHD Degree Scholarships for international students.

There is no HSK-4 (Chinese Proficiency test) to pass in First year Because Ningxia Medical University is approved by MOE China for English Medium MBBS. On admission letter there will be properly mentioned English Medium MBBS Clinical Medicine.

It has 17 undergraduate majors and 5 nation-leveled characteristic specialties; 3 first level disciplines conferring the Doctor’s Degree, 8 first-level disciplines conferring the Master’s Degree. Note: Student Must have good Percentage in HSSC, 65% marks in English & Average of PCB should be 65%. Student must be under the age of 25 for Bachelor Degree. Interview will be conducted by NXMU university officials, after successful interview university will issue Provisional Admission Letter.

Ningxia Medical University has other more than 60 field practice hospitals and health care institute in countries, cities and even other provinces such as Beijing Shanghai, Shanxi and inner magnolia, etc. The General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University (formerly known as “Ningxia Medical University Affiliated Hospital”, renamed as “Ningxia Medical University General Hospital” in July 2011) is located in Shengli Street, Xingqing District, Yinchuan City, Ningxia.

It is a comprehensive tertiary-level A hospital with the largest scale, strong technical force, advanced medical equipment, and a gathering of experts and talents in the province. In December 2004, the hospital was newly listed as “Clinical College of Ningxia Medical University” (renamed “Ningxia Medical University Clinical College” in June 2009).

 The hospital has 7 branches under its jurisdiction, including the Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Hospital, Tumor Hospital, Stomatology Hospital, and Rehabilitation Designated Cooperative Hospital. As a regional medical, scientific research, education, examination and training center, the comprehensive strength of the hospital is currently at the leading level in the seven provinces (regions) of Northwest China, Inner Mongolia and Shanxi.

The hospital covers an area of more than 242,000 square meters, with a construction area of more than 266,000 square meters. The total assets are 2.503 billion yuan. The hospital has 2,263 employees, 2,053 employees, 269 training bases, 821 temporary laborers, 66 re-employed experts, and 20 employees in the school, totaling 5,492. Among them, there are 3928 health professional and technical personnel, accounting for 85.7% of the staff of the hospital (4,585 in staffing, employment, and base), 308 are at the senior level, 623 are at the deputy senior level, and 723 are with intermediate titles.

The general hospital (including the cancer hospital) opened 3233 beds throughout the year, with a total of 139,7042 patient visits, an increase of 9.91% compared to the same period last year; 8,1967 discharged patients, an increase of 10.21%; outpatient surgery 1,5664, inpatient surgery 4 ,4193 person-times.

The School of Clinical Medicine has 16 departments and 4 autonomous region-level key disciplines. Clinical medicine is a first-level master’s degree program. The clinical medicine specialty was rated as the second batch of national-level specialty specialty construction sites by the Ministry of Education.

Beautiful Yinchuan City

Ningxia (Chinese  alternately Romanized as Ningshia), officially the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (NHAR), is a landlocked autonomous region in the northwest of the People’s Republic of China. Formerly a province, Ningxia was incorporated into Gansu in 1954 but was separated from Gansu in 1958 and was reconstituted as an autonomous region for the Hui people, one of the 56 officially recognized nationalities of China. Twenty percent of China’s Hui population lives in Ningxia.

Muslim Culture of Yinchuan

Yinchuan is a center for the Muslim Hui people, who constitute slightly over a quarter of the population. Their influence is evident in everything from the city architecture, Arabic-Chinese road signs and cuisine. About 500 mosques with different form and size can be seen in Yinchuan City.

• Yinchuan City

Yinchuan is the capital of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China. It has an area of 8,874.61 km² (3,426.51 sq mi) and a total population of 2.29 million. Its built-up area is home to 1,487,561 inhabitants spread between three urban districts. The name of the city literally means “silver river”.

Facing the Yellow River in the east, Yinchuan enjoys beautiful natural scenery and favorable conditions for agriculture and has long earned the fame of a “River Side City in the Northwest” and “Home to Fish and Rice”. Yinchuan is now the permanent site for China-Arab Expo which is an international platform for cultural and economic exchanges between China and Arab countries.

• Climate of Yinchuan

Yinchuan has a cold desert climate with an annual rainfall of 186 mm (7.32 in). Yinchuan has distinct seasons, with dry, cold winters, late springs and short summers. The monthly 24-hour average temperature ranges from ?7.9 °C (17.8 °F) in January to 23.5 °C (74.3 °F) in July. There are 158 frost-free days.
