Northern State Medical University
Northern State Medical University was founded in 1932 and is one of the best medical universities in Russia when it comes to studying MBBS in Russia for international students. The history of the Northern State Medical institute starts more than 85 years ago: the Arkhangelsk Medical Institute was founded in 1932. In 1994 the name was altered to Northern State Medical Academy until in the year 2000 it was reorganized as the university. Northern State Medical University is officially recognized by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Medical Council of India(MCI), and World Health Organization(WHO). Northern State Medical University is the only institution offering medical education in the northernmost of Russia.
Students Life At Northern State Medical Institute
Student can volunteer to become a member in the Union of the Northern State Medical University. The membership of the union is popular among students where around 96% of the student populationis the member of the union. The local students don’t pay for the studies because of Russian citizenship but only those who get financial help from the government. Also, they regularly have to pay the member fee. If International students are interested for the membership in the Union then they are supposed to pay some fees to the Union of the students every year. Members are offered tickets to theatres on lower price. The trips cost the 50% of the normal fare to the members of the union. International student who are members of the union get facilities like Russian students do.
Hostel Facility At Northern State medical University
The students are provided with accommodation facility in one of the hostels for students in the Northern State Medical University. The hostel rooms are fully furnished with chairs, table, wardrobe, beds and shelf and the rule is to share the room with for 2-3 students of the university depending upon the size of the room. There is one shower and toilet for two rooms. Rooms are not shared by the opposite genders but the same block has rooms for boys and girls both. In dormitory number 1. of the university, the building has common laundries and kitchens, and there is common room in the 1st and 3rd dormitory of the university. A student will not be provided with the Kitchen equipment and one needs to arrange itself. The internet facility is provided to the students. The distance between the student dormitory no. 1 and the university campus is around 15-minute walk at the distance of about 1.5 km.
